External sash windows restoration – Mayfair, London
While our team restored the external sections of the windows, a team of joiners replaced the bottom sections of the sash windows.
We scraped all loose and flaking paint, and we removed the rotten wooden parts of the frames; wet rot was applied to harden the wood, which has been filled, sanded, and painted with two coats of water-based Weathershield undercoat, a topcoat of Weathershield high gloss, has been applied for a finish.
The top section of the window on the right-hand side (when you face the building) has been removed due to complete disintegration caused by the external elements and replaced with a new timber board that has been primed, undercoated, and finished with high gloss.
The lead work around the external window casings has been refixed and resealed to be watertight.
